Refraction, the change in direction of a wave passing from one medium to another, is a fine metaphor for poets keen to experiment and hop between practices to explore the boundaries of language. This exhibition of visual poetry celebrates young talent as well as the experimental poetry tradition. Each poet adds their own interpretation of this theme using their own unique poetic voice. With thanks to the editors of Streetcake, Nikki Dudley and Trini Decombe, for kindly assisting in the organisation of this event.

This online exhibition features some brilliant poets associated with the Streetcake Experimental Writing Prize. It showcases some of this year’s young winners and finalists including E. J.
